Social Security Administration uses a five step evaluation process to determine whether a person is disabled.

Is the claimant working?

Is the claimant's condition "severe"?

Is the claimant's condition found in the list of disabling conditions?

Can the claimant work as he/she did previously?

Can the claimant do any other type of work?
